Getting parts from jd

I am new here on the message board, and I wanted to see if anyone has any of these problems with there jd 4600 tractors. So far, I had to have the fuel injection rebuilt, hyd pump rebuilt and replaced the hyd arms on my loader. I have had more problems than a man can shake a stick at. Also, I have noticed that I can not get parts for the tractor that look like the orignal equipment. The hyd cylinders had to be replaced on my loader, but they (dealer) had to modify them to fit the 460 loader. Also, I broke a tie rod on the front end,,,,and the replacement part looks nothing like the orignal one. I have had it with Jd. My dealer has been great, but some things like parts seem to be out of his control. I called the jd 800 number and got the run around. I spoke to Kendra who was very nice, but she had no clue to why my replace parts don't look the orignal equipment! The dealer has no clue either. Has anybody had these types problems? Thx Phil

I can't comment on the 4000 series. But I have a 1994 JD755 and a 1987 JD7 back hoe that goes on it. I have purchased a few parts for the tractor, many more for the backhoe which I just completely overhauled. All of the new parts are identical to those that came off with the exception of one or two improvements. JD is known for making parts and documentation available for many, many years after the discontinuation of a line. My first question would be if the dealer is jury-rigging repairs to increase his margin? Although I have always found the parts available on short notice, they are expensive in many cases. ....

I have often thought about this as a possiblity. I am going to call another dealer today and see what they come up with. Thx PHIL ....
